DIY Baby Shower Gift

A few months ago I was invited to a coworker’s man shower.  I wanted to get (or make) something creative and unique for him and his girlfriend.  So, I made them a diaper cake and to say the least it was a success.
It’s really easy to make, follow my instructions and let your creative juices flow…
Things you’ll need:
            -130+ diapers (I used 138 Pampers Swaddlers Size 1)
            - 3-4 9” Round Cake Cardboards ( I used 3 but just in case you mess up)
            - Poster Paper
            - Round Tin Box
            - 2” Ribbon
            - 2 Yards of Tulle
            - Double Sided Tape (the durable kind)
            - Pencil Compass
            - 1 8oz. Baby Bottle
            - Goodies (i.e. onesies, soap, socks, shoes, bottles, etc.)
            - 4 hours of spare time
Steps.
1.  Place (1) of the 9” Round Cake Cardboards on a flat surface, this is your base.  Taking some of the poster paper cut out a rim that equals the size of the round cake cardboard.  This will make your mold
2.  In the middle of the round cardboard place a round tin box, this way the diapers have a place to lean on creating a perfect circle. You might want to tape the bottom of the tin box onto the cardboard for stability.
3. Start placing the diapers (make sure the folded side is towards the outside rim) along the tin box (or baby bottle), they’ll eventually start filling up along your mold (the poster paper).  Once it’s full, tie a ribbon along the circle of diapers to make the first tier.
4.  This is when the pencil compass comes in handy.  You should have 2-3 round cardboards left.  Make  6” and 3” circles for the other tiers. But wait, don’t follow steps 1-3 just yet.
5.  You now have a full tier filled with diapers and a tin box in the middle, place an 8oz baby bottle in the middle the second tier, this will hold your second and third tier in place.  Make sure to make a hole in the 3” round cardboard to allow the bottle to go in between.
6.  Repeat steps 1-3 for the second and third tier.
7.  Voila!, you now have a diaper cake and it needs some decorating so take your goodies and start stuffing the cake as you please
