Vicster and I headed to the cozy and intimate Elephant Theatre in West Hollywood on Saturday for the Bukowski Festival where we soon found ourselves drinking and enjoying a Taylor Hackford 40 minute documentary amongst other Hank lovers (including the lovely Linda King). Whether it was the love of his honesty or his raunchy humor, we all sat there (some on the floor) and laughed with or at Bukowski. The film only reminded us how frank and free spirit he was, it’s unfortunate we don’t have writers like that anymore. Charles Bukowski was truly one of its kind. |
